A product review.

Unsolicited and I paid for the product! Not a freebie this time.
For dinner last night we had the Chick'n Scallopini from Gardein. I hadn't had any Gardein products before this but I had heard, along with everyone no doubt, all the hype.
Did it live up to the hype?
Well, it was OK. I'm not going to rave about it, because I wasn't that impressed, but I did enjoy my dinner, and it wasn't bad. I think if it hadn't been hyped to the rafters I would have been more impressed.

Will I buy it again?
Yes, sure. Though in all honesty I'd be more inclined to do so if it was on sale. Otherwise I can see this being an emergency " I don't have time to cook properly" type dinner.

Would I recommend it?
Um, maybe. I can't comment on its likeness to chicken as it has been so long since I ate any, but I would recommend to a new veg*n looking to satisfy a "meat craving". Otherwise I'd put a caveat about not living up to its huge hype on the recommendation.

A perfectly acceptable dinner.

I know what you mean about the Gardein products. They are all right, but I don't get the hype either. I think the Quorn mock chicken products are much more impressive, but of course, they aren't vegan. But, like you said, Gardein isn't bad and works for a quick meal when you're in a pinch.

I felt like the Gardein product I had (stuffed chicken breast I believe) was exeptionally similar to the real thing...but to me that is NOT what makes a great vegan meal.
