Mo Fo 2

Today featuring, Vegan with a Vengeance, by Isa Chandra Moskowitz, (one book which I didn't test for!)

This is the first vegan cookbook I owned. I think a lot of people can say that, and I regularly still use it, especially the Pad Thai, the peanut sauce in the Soba Seitan recipe, the Fronch Toast, the Macadamia-Coconut-Carrot-etc cake. A (not-so) oldy but a real goodie!

What are your VWAV faves??

This was my first vegan cookbook, too!

We make the pumpkin muffins, sunny cornbread muffins, pancakes, and fronch toast often. And it has my go-to tofu scramble recipes.

One of the first vegan cakes I ever had was the raspberry blackout cake from this book and I swear that alone could turn someone vegan!

The carrot cake is a winner and I love her pumpkin muffins. The tofu marinades are great as well. It's a nice book to have!

I love VWAV and it was my first vegan cookbook too. My favs are jerk seitan, the main seitan recipe, the pancakes, etc. There are so many.

Can you belive that despite my ever-expanding collection of vegan cookbooks, I have never even held this one in my hands! I have cooked a few recipes from it that I have found online, but I have yet to browse the book.

I do own the newer Veganomicon, though, which is one of my trusted, go-to cookbooks. :) I also love the Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World, which I bought for my birthday last year.

I have dreams about that Macadamia-Coconut-Carrot Cake. It's honestly the best cake I've ever had! Fronch toast is awesome, too. I always turn to VWAV when I need some tofu scramble inspiration and the Chocolate Rum Pudding Cake is ridiculously easy and good!

The Fronch Toast... and I make the Mushroom/Seitan Stroganoff thing for Christmas Dinner every year. There are tons of the other recipes I love too. This is my favorite vegan cookbook and I can't even count how many copies of it I've purchased as gifts.

oh my gosh, so many favorites. I love that pear-cranberry tart, ROASTED BRUSSEL SPROUTS, jerk seitan, fronch toast, and the crepes. Probably the crepes, fronch toast, and brussels changed my life most of all... I never liked brussels before that recipe, and I didn't think I'd ever have crepes or french toast again after going vegan. For those recipes alone, I am eternally grateful to miss isa!
