Thats it over with then.

The first day back at school that is!
Yesterday was officially the first day back, they went for an hour, took attendance and that was it. So much for the first day of school.

M is in Grade 2 this year, and R is starting Kindergarten. She has been saying forever that she's not going to go and doesn't want to go and we can't make her, but when M explained that it was the LAW and Mum and Dad would get in trouble with the POLICE if she didn't go, she resignedly agreed to give it a try. Nothing like a big sister to put fear of the man into a 4 1/2 year old!

Anyway, this week is a school team building week for M, and she'll get her class allocation for Monday. R has a visit with her teacher and school starts for real for her next Monday.

Being the kind hearted girl that she is, M decided she wanted to take cookies in to share with her friends on the first day. Here's a selection of what we made -

School for only an hour on the first day?! Sign me up, lol! I would have loved that when I was in school!

That is so nice that you are able to bake vegan treats for your kids to share--here (in the U.S.), you are not allowed to bring home-baked goods into the classrooms, unfortunately. Makes for a lot of unhealthy processed treats for birthdays, parties, etc. :-( NOT what our kids need!

Really?? Nothing homemade at all??
We have loads of times through the year we can bring stuff to share and its usually all home made too. Not just from me.
That is quite incredible.

Yep--NO home baked treats. I think it is probably due to allergies? I don't know...it does seem like a shame, though.
