Broccoli lovers only please.

I made this soup for dinner last night. Broccoli!
I didn't measure anything specifically or write down the recipe as I went but I want to share what I did as it was superb! So follow along if you can -

I sauteed some garlic, an onion and the finely chopped stalk of a head of broccoli (I only used one head but two would have been better - just use the stalk of all the broccoli you use) until soft.

Added in some rubbed Dried Sage and some "Poultry Seasoning" mix (not much of either), about 1/2 C Red Lentils, 2 finely chopped (peeled) medium sized Potatoes and stirred to combine.

I then added in about 5 - 6 C Veggie Stock, the head of Broccoli cut into florets (again 2 heads would have been better but I only had 1) and a bayleaf, brought to the boil, then simmered, covered, for about 30 minutes until everything was very soft and well cooked.

I removed the bayleaf then blended until velvety smooth. It needed a little salt and pepper at this point but not much.

Brilliant! and will make again and write everything down.

Wow--I love broccoli, so this sounds fabulous! But, I am not a huge fan of perfectly smooth you think it would be as good if I just pureed half of the mixture, and left some pieces for texture/chewing/etc?
