North American Biscuits that is. I think I've posted about the whole biscuit / cookie / scone conundrum before so I am not getting into that again. I have in the past used Tracy's recipe - like in this post - but decided to try another couple over the last wee while to go with soup and other things.
First up from Jae Steele's wonderful Get in Ripe, Buttahmilk Biscuits. These are made with Spelt Flour and Coconut Oil, so not your usual white biscuits. I found them to be a little salty, and a wee bit dry, but very good and healthy tasting. Would make again.
Then I made the Buttermilk Biscuits from Yellow Rose Recipes. A lovely light, scone like biscuit that went really well with jam.
and just to round out the theme for this post I made the Baking Powder Biscuits from Vegan with a Vengeance. These are very scone like too, and great fresh out of the oven, but then a little dry.
You want a verdict? I like Joanna's best. Yay for Yellow Rose Recipes.
